Figure
Figure. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) pattern and phylogenetic tree of 117 community-acquired (CA)-methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates from three continents. SmaI macrorestriction patterns were digitized and analyzed by using Taxotron software (Institut Pasteur, Paris, France) to calculate Dice coefficients of correlation and to generate a dendrogram by the unweighted pair group method using arithmetic averages (UPGMA) clustering. The scale indicates the level of pattern similarity. Capital letters indicate macrorestriction types based on visual interpretation of PFGE results. Fragment size (kb) of the reference strain NCTC8325 is indicated on the bottom lane.
