Figure 4. Association between COVID-19–related hospital admissions and CRB incidence rate in 2020 in study of effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on incidence and epidemiology of CRB, Spain. We calculated COVID-19 incidence rates by dividing the total number of COVID-19 admissions by the total number of patient-days and CRB incidence rates by dividing the total number of episodes of catheter-related bloodstream infections by the total number of patient-days. We used linear regression analysis to determine the relationship between COVID-19–related hospital admissions and the incidence of CRB. We found a positive association between the incidence of COVID-19–related hospital admissions and incidence rate of CRB (R2 = 0.45). CRB, catheter-related bacteremia.
