Outbreak of H5N2 influenza virus in birds of backyard and industrial farms, raptors, and wild birds in the United States and Canada, December 2014–July 2015. Despite increased surveillance throughout 2015 and 2016, few cases were reported after the outbreak. In 2016, a wild bird in Alaska was positive for H5N2, indicating that low-level transmission of this virus had occurred without being detected.
