*Total DNA was extracted from MPXV specimens from different body sources of patients in USA during 2023–2024 (nos. 37–40) or in DRC during 2016–2017 (nos. 29–30). The 2 DNA samples from DRC were diluted with PCR-grade water at the ratio of 1:1,000 or 1:10,000. DNA concentrations (ng/µL), MPXV Ct values, and read depths over the 2 genomic regions (10-kb and 15-kb) derived from amplicon sequencing or over the whole genome (genome) of MPXV derived from metagenomic sequencing on DNA samples included.
